Your doctor has ordered a Venous Doppler (Duplex) exam of your arms. This is a noninvasive ultrasound test. The sonographer will put a cool gel on your arms and pass a transducer (probe) along your arms to scan your veins. This is to evaluate the blood flow in your veins, to determine if there are any blood clots causing an obstruction of the deep venous system in your arm(s). This is a painless procedure, and there is no preparation.

Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment. If you need to reschedule your appointment, or if you have any questions, please feel free to call our office.
